Haiti - Social : Drinking water and a Community Restaurant for Merger
Friday, as part of the program "Katye m se Fyète m" President Michel Martelly, accompanied by Charles Jean-Jacques, Minister of Social Affairs, Klaus Eberwein, Director General of Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES), Lionel Duvalsaint, Director General of the Haitian Directorate of Potable Water and Sanitation (DINEPA) went to Merger (Croix-des-Bouquets).
The Head of State alongside Lionel Duvalsaint proceeded to the inauguration of a system of drinking water supply to serve 5,000 residents "The inhabitants of Merger expressed their needs for drinking water and agriculture. Today, the time has come to answer their call. This system of water supply make their lives easier, and starts an era of support to the development of the area," declared the Head of State, noting that several other projects such as the construction of a sports complex and that of a professional technical center are also in progress in this locality.
President Martelly took advantage of this visit in Merger to inaugurate, in the presence of the Minister of Social Affairs and the Director of FAES, a community restaurant. In addition, officials of national social program "Ede Pèp" also distributed 1,000 "Panye Solidarity" and 4,000 hot meals as part of the sub-program "Kantin Mobil".
