Haiti - Sports: Training of 150 new Sports Animators in School

The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Civic Action (MJSAC) informs the general public that a new training seminar for 150 youth from the departments of Artibonite and Northwest began in Verettes yesterday Tuesday 14 and ends Monday, January 20, 2014.

After the departments of the West, North, Northeast, South, Grande Anse, the MJSAC continues to expand the number of Sports Animators in School called to work with youth in schools according to the vision of President Martelly for a comprehensive education of Haitian youth,backbone of change in motion.

Thus, the number of Sports Animators in School will rise from 900 to more than 1,000 trained by technicians of the Directorate of Sports and Physical Activities (DAPS) of MJSAC on the following topics :

  • Generalities of physical activity ;

  • Psychoeducation ;

  • Planning of a class of Physical and Sports Activities (APS) ;

  • heory and practice of Athletics, Basketball, Football, Volleyball ;

  • Organization and management of sporting events in schools.

The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Civic Action, which aims to reach all departments of the country by training young technicians in Physical and Sporting Activities is committed to ensuring sport and recreational practice in schools and also revive the policy employability of this segment of the population through new trades within the program contract for the future.
