As part of the work and reflections on the reform of the national public investment system, a mission of Chilean cooperation stay in Haiti from 27 to 31 January 2014, under the coordination of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF).

Headed by Chilean Ambassador accredited to Haiti Mr. Raoul Fernandez Daza, this mission is composed of Ms. Andrea MacKenny, Head of Cabinet of Social Assessment Project of the Ministry of Social Development, Javier Diaz, National Coordinator of Investments Capacity and Mr. Fernando Britos, Head of Methodology Department.

During their stay the representatives of the Chilean Mission will present the Chilean Public Investment System and will discuss with senior officials of MEF about the different possibilities for cooperation mainly focused on the establishment of management tools and monitoring of public investments in their organizational, institutional and financial aspects.

In this context, the MEF held Tuesday at the Hotel Karibe, a workshop-debates on the National Public Investment System of Chile. The Fund of Economic and Social Assistance (FAES) was one of the participants in this workshop-debates where two topics were addressed :

1 - "National Public Investment System in Chile", presented by Mr. Javier Diaz

2 - "Good practices for the development of the public system," presented by Mr. Fernando Britos

This workshop enabled state executives, involved in the preparation process of implementation and evaluation of public investment programs to inform abou the Chilean experience and exchange ideas with members the delegation.

This manifestation of the Chilean cooperation is justified by the fact that this country was able to boost its national investment system in by managing to reconcile the two goals of economic growth and social inclusion. It also allowed the Haitian professionals, to better know the good management of public investment.
