Haiti - Diaspora Chicago : Black History Month 02/02/2014 09:30:15
Lesly Condé, the Consul General of Haiti in Chicago reminds the entire community, that February is known worldwide as the Black History Month. "This is an opportunity for us to think about our heritage and our country's place in the history of of humanity in general and the black race in particular [...] We will honor our national hero in February and throughout the year. Our history that has inspired so many people should at least be in the spotlight for over twenty-eight days of February 2014. It is thus for us to be proud of, and train children proud of our identity." As part of Black History Month, the Consulate General of Haiti in Chicago will collaborate on February 12 with the Museum Jean-Baptiste Pointe DuSable, for the presentation of a documentary on the life of Toussaint Louverture and a lecture by Dr. Ludovic Comeau Junior themed "the Haitian revolution and its impact on America and the world". Consul General Lesly Condé will deliver the opening speech.
Also to celebrate the Black History Month, the Consular Mission will present a special program Sunday, February 16 from 7:00 to 8:00 pm on "Radio Haïti Internationale de Chicago" (1590AM or www.1590wcgo.com). HL/ HaitiLibre
