Haiti - Training : High-level Technical Mission in Ecuador

Sunday, in the framework of bilateral cooperation with Ecuador, 6 high-level technicians from public service have left Haiti, Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014 to Quito [Ecuador's capital] for a one-week technical mission.

These six executives come from the Haitian Institute of Statistics and Informatics (IHSI), the National Observatory on Poverty and Social Exclusion (ONPES), the National Centre for Geo-Spatial Information (CNIGS) the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES) and the National Identification Office (ONI). They will have to work with their counterparts of the Ecuadorian government on strategies for implementation and management of a national information system.

It is a learning mission, of exchange and sharing of experiences which will enable Haiti to strengthen its national information system and encourage the learning of cohesion, between the parties concerned working in the national information system.

The 2 representatives of FAES and ONPES will have to work with the Ecuadorian on the design of tools and methodology for collecting information about people living in extreme poverty.

The delegate of CNIGS, will exchange with Ecuadorian on mechanisms lead to the construction of a national information system which will takes into account all the issues of statistical and geographical information.

As for the 3 other members of the delegation representing the ONI and IHSI, thay will receive technical assistance in the planning of the census of population.
