Haiti - Education : 1st French Master, of hybrid education in Haiti

In late January the first French Master hybrid (on-site instruction and distance) was launched in Haiti. It is a Master 2 in Management of Organizations of the Net Economy (MONE), established in Haiti by the Ecole Supérieure d'Infotronique of Haiti (ESIH) and the University of Picardie Jules Verne (UPJV ) with the support of the Embassy of France.

This master, integrated in the portfolio of Excellence of distance learning of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) is ranked among the best rench Masters in its class, by the Consulting firm SMBG.

It is organized on the basis of hybrid teaching, combining on-site courses and distance learning. Classes are taught in ESIH by Haitian and French teachers who offer courses in the areas of e-management organizations and steering of information technology.

Currently in an experimental phase, the 21 students selected for the first year have all received a digital tablet "Surtab" assembly in Haiti, which already contains the distance courses, allowing students to work from the place of their choice, regardless energy problem or internet connection.

his pilot experiment between ESIH and UPJV, opens the way to new forms of academic cooperation around the digital offering. Holders of Master MONE will be graduating from a French university, without having to leave Haiti while having benefited from very flexible conditions of access to knowledge.

This first experience of "master delocalized" may be supplemented by diverse and innovative university arrangements (bi-graduation, co-graduation) through the construction of a true Haitian virtual university.
