On Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 11:00 am, His Holiness Pope Francis, be held an ordinary public consistory (that is to say, the rite by which the Pope creates new Cardinals) in the Basilica of St. Peter in the Vatican during which the first Haitian Cardinal, His Eminence Cardinal Chibly Langlois, Bishop of Les Cayes and President of the Episcopal Conference of Haiti (CEH), will be created Cardinal.

In the afternoon, from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm, Cardinal Chibly Langlois and the other Cardinals, that will be created with him, will receive, in the Vatican rooms that will be assigned to them, the "courtesy visit" of those who wish to express their wishes and their congratulations.

Sunday, February 23, the Pope Francis will celebrate, with 19 new cardinals, the Holy Mass in the Basilica of St. Peter in the Vatican, at 10:00. Note that the Head of State of Haiti, accompanied by a delegation will attend these ceremonies.

Monday, February 24, at 10:30 am, the Pope Francis will receive in private audience the President Michel Martelly. After this head-to-head, the 10 members of the Haitian delegation will be presented individually to the Pope Francis. A gift exchange will take place between the Pope and the President Martelly.

Thereafter, the President Martelly, be held a working meeting with His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of His Holiness (Prime Minister of the Holy See), and His Excellency Monsignor Dominique Mamberti, Secretary of the Holy See for Relations with States (Foreign Minister), President Martelly will be accompanied for the occasion by three members of his entourage.
