Haiti - Justice : Inauguration of the Peace Court and the Office of Civil status of Kenscoff

Tuesday, Me Jean Renel Sanon, the Minister of Justice and Public Security in the presence of interim executive agents, the representative of the Office of Citizen Protection (OPC), the police authorities and those of the justice, proceeded together with Gilles Rivard, the Chargé d'affaires of Canada in Haiti at the inauguration of a new building (546m2) housing the Peace Court and the Office of Civil Status of the commune of Kenscoff.

The Peace Court of Kenscoff, offers spacious courtrooms, an administrative office, a comfortable Registry and parking with a large capacity. The Minister of Justice expressed the wish that the brand new premises marks the beginning of a new era in the delivery of justice in this municipality of West department, with more than 50,000 inhabitants and also encouraged the population of Kenskoff to declare births in their new Civil Status Office.

This building was funded to the tune of $ 530,000 by Canada through the Working Group for Stabilization and Reconstruction (START) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (MAECD).
