Haiti - NOTICE : First National Day of blood collection

The Junior Chamber International Haiti (JCI Haiti), the National Transfusion Safety Program (PNST), the Haitian Red Cross, with support from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and PEPFAR (President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief) [CDC-PEPFAR], officially launch the first edition of the National Day of collection of blood under the theme : "Manman se lavi, bay san pou sove yo, se sove lavi".

This first national day of blood collection in Haiti, a citizen initiative of JCI Haiti, aims to support the capacity of the National Blood Safety Program (PNST) and the Haitian Red Cross to meet the needs of the population in blood bags, whose demand is greater than the number of blood bags collected, especially for pregnant women and their children.

JCI Haiti wants to promote blood donation as a gesture of citizen engagement and enable young people to engage in positive changes for the community by volunteering. The project relies on citizen awareness of young women and mens and their gratitude compared to women who give birth...

Junior Chamber, sensitive to the plight of these women, pillar of economic and social development, undertakes that citizen action, of love and gratitude Sunday, 25 May 2014 through 11 cities in the country's 10 departments, and involves all members of the thirteen local organizations JCI Haiti.
