Haiti - Politic : «The Time of Renewal» (editorial)

In an editorial signed by Dr. Rudy Heriveaux, Minister of Communication, the latter denounced without complacency, the actions of the opposition and strongly appeals to unity, peace, stability and national harmony. An editorial that we invite you to share.

Editorial of the Minister Hérivaux

"The wind of unreason, blowing on some fringe opposition in Haiti, raises many questions, regrettable and troubling concerns. Why this morbid obsession to fuel instability ? Why this unhealthy tendency to undermine the political field with for clear objective to cause a rash ? Why this obstinacy, this hysteria to want at all costs give birth to chaos in their country ? , in our country ? We know that a fear exacerbated can become at this point morbid that it can cause bizarre and unreasonable behavior.

Is the phobia of elections would be the source of the waves of destabilization that are hitting the streets of Port-au-Prince ? A suddenly and abruptly awareness of its weaknesses, its brittleness and its inconsistency would push this opposition, to want pathetically refuse the electoral battle ? This is a hypothesis more than plausible... The painful experiences experienced in the recent past, should nevertheless away from these harmful and demagogic practices Haiti's political men and women. By systematically refusing the game of political alternation, bt wanting at all costs to trample and violate the rules of the democratic game, in this dynamic of stagnation blind in the filthy swamp of upheaval, they display a rather distressing amnesia. The diagnosis is there.

A small heterogeneous fauna that inhabits the Haitian political world has not learned well the lessons of the past and failed to draw the necessary lessons. Indeed the history of Haiti is full of confrontations and clashes, fratricidal wars that have generated a lot of suffering and significantly delayed our march towards progress. We left weakened of these internal struggles who only widen divisions within of a society doomed to share this beautiful and magnificent heritage of heroes who sewed with their patriotic fibers the national bicolor. We must leave behind us these periods of unrest and sterile heartbreak. This fringe of the opposition allergic to elections, must face the facts. The tactic of chaos is doomed to failure.

Haitian democracy will not be phagocytized by a handful of diehards that want at all costs, plunging the country into chaos and anarchy... Displeasing to the nostalgic of those ugly and tormented practices, that time is over. Haiti is definitely engaged in a new era of renewal and national unity. The speech of the President of the Republic in Arcahaie in May 18 is clearly carrying of this unifying spirit.

This is a strong appeal for unity, peace, stability and national harmony. Disorder, vandalism, real poison for democracy will not be tolerated. This profound social change to which our countrymen aspire and which is initiated by the Administration Martelly/Lamothe will truly be realized only when in a a large burst of patriotism, we will make the decision to defeat the demons of intolerance and division. "Pa Gen Nèg Anwo, Nêg Anba. NOU TOUT SE AYISYEN". The time has come that we advance together in tight rows on the path of change, renewal and progress.

For our country can achieve this and settle irreversibly, all political opposition must finally understand, the urgent need to break that rebel shells making them prisoners of a surpassed past and deceased, from this mediocre diagonal and cons-productive of the tabula rasa, to embrace the new dynamics of political modernity that opens to Haiti, by going to elections."
