Friday, the Embassy of Mexico signed a donation of $2.5 million for Haiti with the Ministry of Public Health, this signing ceremony took place in the presence of the Ambassador of Mexico in Haiti, Jose Luis Alvarado, Dr. Florence Guillaume Duperval, the Minister of Health, Gilles Rivas, Chargé d'Affaires of Canada in Haiti.

This donation of $2.5 million is intended to the installation of 4,000 m2 of solar panels to provide 200 KW to power four priority areas of the Hospital La Providence of Gonaïves, including the emergency department.

Recall that the construction of the modern hospital, which will be a reference center is funded by the Canadian International Development Agency to the tune of 17 million dollars (14.3 million initially) via UNOPS (United Nations Office for Project Services). It is built in Morne Blanc, by the Spanish Group Abantia, in consortium with Construcciones Cots y Claret.

Covering an area of ​​10,380 m2 and a capacity of 200 beds, the new Hospital will have for vocationcare for mothers and children. The inauguration of the hospital is scheduled for August 2014. A public tender internationalhas been launched for the supply of solar panels whose first tests should take place in the first quarter of 2015.
