Jean max Bellerive, chaired the ceremony of installation of the new holder of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment (Ministère des Affaires Sociales et du Travail MAST) Gerald Germain to replace Yves Cristalin, candidate for Presidential election which resigned to be devoted fully to its electoral campaign. In a speech for the occasion, the Prime Minister praised the work done by the Minister Christalin, noting that it was able to do much with little resources.

As regards this nomination, Jean max Bellerive explained that the choice had been made on the economist Gerald Germain, former predecessor of the outgoing minister, because of the importance of this ministry in the current conjuncture, pointing out that million people have immediate needs for job creation and access to housing.
