Haiti - Elections : Deadline to register on the electoral rolls

The Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) inform having transmitted the electoral calendar to all political parties and affiliates and recalls the registration deadline for voters and announced dates for a new registration period for candidates at BED and BEC.

Notice to Voters :

CEP reminds all stakeholders of the national life, candidates, voters, empowered agents of Public Services, that the date of July 27, 2014 is and remains the last day for registration in the electoral register (electoral rolls), to be allowed to vote in elections "of 26 October and 28 December 2014." The Council notify the late, that in the absence to complete this formality decisive in ONI offices near their homes, the obtaining of any electoral card carried out after the July 27 does not authorize the holder to vote in the next election.

Notice to Candidates :

Frizto Canton, President of CEP inform candidates interested in the elections of 26 October 2014 that, following the Presidential Decree of convocation of the Haitian people in elections, a new registration period was open between 13 and 17 June, to allow only Latecomers to proceed with their registration formalitieswith regard to the Departmental Electoral Offices (BED) and Communal Electoral Offices (BEC). Registrations previously made are and remain valid.

Moreover, following the Presidential Decree of convocation of the Haitian people to elections October 26, the CEP informs taht after opinions and suggestions collected from different Political Parties and Groups, it transmitted the "Electoral Calendar" to all political parties and affiliates.
