The Dominican Ministry of Health said today the continued supervision of the health control throughout the border area. Dr Bautista Rojas Gómez, Secretary of State for Public Health and Social Assistance (Secretaría de Estado de Salud Pública y Asistencia Social SESPA) in Dominican Republic, said that more than one million doses of vaccine were administered to the Haitian and Dominican Republic population living along the border or cross this one.

Affirming, by doing so, it conforms strictly to the procedures and recommendations of the International Code for Health.

Finally, he informed that these preventive measures are given to Haitians and Dominicans along the border in the health centers and immunization posts in the province of Montecristi, Dajabón, Independencia, Elías Piña, and Pedernales but also to Baoruco, Barahona, Santiago Rodríguez, Azua, Valverde, La Romana and La Altagracia.
