In a joint statement dated June 22, parties and alliances of political parties of the democratic opposition and of the patriotic resistance, including Fanmi Lavalas, Inite, Fusion and the "Mouvement Patriotique de l'Opposition Démocratique" (MOPOD), said they are concerned by the maneuvers of power in the treatment of the electoral record, which threaten the proper functioning of democratic institutions and political stability of the country.

"Faced with the political crisis created by poor governance which has resulted in an increasing lack of legitimacy of the administration Martelly / Lamothe supported by a fraction of the international community;

Concerned about the maneuvers of power in the treatment of the electoral record, which threaten the proper functioning of democratic institutions and political stability of the country;

Convinced of the need for Haitian Democrats to use all peaceful means to counter the anti-democratic project of the power in place;

Have decided to unite their voices for:

• Reaffirm their commitment to the values ​​of democracy and the rule of law ;

• Confirm their willingness to participate in free, democratic and sovereign fair elections for the renewal of local elected officials both at national and local level, as a means to ensure lasting political stability in the country ;

• Denounce unfair maneuvers of the executive power seeking by all means to strengthen its grip on the electoral system and the administrative machinery ;

• Reject the policy of systematic violation of the constitution and laws and do not accept such violation as a indisputable and irreversible accomplished fact ;

• Unmask the conducted of the Provisional Electoral Council illegal and unconstitutional of 7 members, without waiting the end of the process of constitution of the institution and the vote of the necessary amendments of the electoral law, attempts to establish an electoral at teh service of Power ;

• Tell the whole nation that they do not intend to accept and in fact do not accept any ultimatum nor any deadline from this so-called Provisional Electoral Council ;

• Recall that the electoral law of 27 November 2013 contains several provisions that do not allow to use it without amendment for the organization of elections for two-thirds of the Senate, the Chamber of Deputies and all local authorities ;

• Warn anyone, domestic or foreign who want to keep our country in a permanent political instability and believe they can commit the absurdity of holding elections in the country without the participation of political parties representing the democratic opposition and resistance patriotic.
