Dr. Florence D. Guillaume, Minister of Public Health and Population (MSPP), has just released the "Statistical Report 2013," a 52-page document that gathers statistical data on the status and functioning of Haitian health system and also a lot of information on the distribution of the different layers of the population, according to their status and health and their health needs among others.

This document, which is intended for partners and stakeholders in the health sector both nationally and internationally, researchers, entrepreneurs, students, program managers and the public in general, was prepared by the Statistical Service of the Unit Studies and Planning (UEP) with the support of "Futures Group" through a project of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).

In the preface of this report the Minister emphasized that "Recognizing the role of statistics in the planning and evaluation of any health program and the decision making based on the evidence, the MSPP is committed for several years to make available of actors statistics on the functioning of the health system in Haiti. At the same time, it continues the process leading to the establishment of the "National Health Information System Unique" (SISNU).
