On Wednesday, Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, accompanied by Marie-Carmelle Jean-Marie, Minister of Economy and Finance, had an important meeting with the representatives of the World Bank (WB), of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), of the Inter-American development Bank (IDB) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), about the boosting of the energy sector and government initiatives to increase economic growth.

"We are working to be more efficient in our economic policy because our dearest dream is to make Haiti a country emerging on the horizon of 2030," said the head of government, which indicated that the partnership between the Government and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and more specifically, the program of facilitation and expansion of credit, will soon be implemented with the support of the IMF.

Steps taken by the Government to speed up reform of public finances, which aims among other the transparency in the management and control of public finances, and the rapidity of payment procedures, was also discussed.

The IMF Representative Wayne Camard and Minister of Economy and Finance, at the end of the meeting.
