The Consulate General of the Republic of Haiti in Chicago has the duty to remind the entire Haitian community, that ugust 14, 2014 "brings the 223rd anniversary of the Bois Caïman Ceremony; very important event in the history of humanity as it led to the creation of the first black republic in the world."

On this occasion, the Haitian Congress to Fortify Haiti, organizes with the support of the Consular Mission, Friday, Aug. 15, from 7:00 pm, a recreational evening, cultural and patriotic at the Levy Center at 300 Dodge Avenue, Evanston where snacks and refreshments will be offered.

"The Consulate rely, again this year on a good participation of members of the community in this important initiative to celebrate a moment in history whose symbolism should never be forgotten.

Also, the Consular Mission will present a special program on Sunday 17th from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm on the airwaves of Radio Haiti Internationale of Chicago(1590AM or www.1590wcgo.com).
