In the courtyard of the building housing the Office of the Minister for human rights and the fight against extreme poverty, thirty youth from various poor neighborhoods in a real hammers concert following in the footsteps of Jean-Eddy Rémy, a professional sculptor specialized in iron-cut, who co-hosts for a month a sculpture workshop for these young talents seeking guidance with Davidson, representative of another current sculpture.

Learn an artistic profession is the greatest desire of these young people who are very aware of the situation of vulnerability in the popular neighborhoods. "We would like to participate in the transformation of our communities, we would like to project a different image of people living in poor neighborhoods," says Mackendy, one of the participants "The knowledge gained from this workshop will allow me to develop my talents and show the world that there is great potential in the popular neighborhoods."

Pierre-Richard, another young talent who does not lack ambition, says he wants to "sculpt to satisfy everyone." But his dream is to one day live of his trade and represent Haiti in international events like the sculptors of the Grand Rue and Village Noailles "I hope one day that my work goes round the world."

Sculpt to combat extreme poverty is one of the key ideas of this training for young people living in precarious neighborhoods. Wrecked cars, piles of scrap metal, everything is transformed into art.

Sculpture is primarily an art and as resilience factors, art and culture can contribute to the development of this thirty young which could help transform their communities, both socially and environmentally.
