Haiti - Petit-Goâve : Temporary lifting of the strike at the Lycée Faustin Soulouque

On Friday, after a two-hour meeting, the teachers of the Lycée Faustin Soulouque have taken the resolution to return to work in classrooms from Monday, October 13, until justice decide promptly on the dispute, opposing Gerber Alexandre to Louis Frantz Baptista, the Director of Lycée Faustin Soulouque.

Recall that the teachers had decided to observe this work stoppage as a sign of solidarity and protest after the refusal of the Director of Lycée, to accept to register on the regular registry of the Lycée, one of the son of Gerber Alexandre, ho had come to ask him this favor. Following this refusal, Gerber Alexandre had so generously insulted with all words in the world and threatened the Director Baptista, in front of the students of the Lycée Faustin Soulouque.

The teachers wish strongly that the record, which is currently at the instruction cabinet, be transferred to the correctional so that justice can decide and take action against Gerber Alexandre, for having insulted the Director Baptista and profaned with his vulgar remarks, the Lycée Faustin Soulouque. The teachers threaten to resume strike in two weeks if justice is not done in this case.
