Haiti - Social : 22.741 families still living in camps

The latest report of the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) in Haiti, indicates a 17.5% decrease in the number of internally displaced (IDP) compared to June 2014. Since July 2010, the number of displaced families has decreased by 93.7% and the number of camps of 92.1%.

However, 22.741 families (85.432 people) still living in 123 IDP camps, instead of the 172 registered sites in the month of June. Port-au-Prince remains the municipality with the highest number of open camps, while the town of Delmas has the the largest population of displaced persons.

Note that between July and September 2014, 49 camps have been closed, including 48 through housing subsidies, which helped relocate 4,907 families.
