Haiti - Social : Success of the Fair of artisans living with disabilities

Saturday on the sidelines of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which will be celebrated on December 3, was held at the Hotel Royal Oasis, the fair organized by the Office of the Secretary of State for the Integration of Persons with Disabilities (BSEIPH).

There were many those who made the trip to admire and purchase the works of 15 artisans living with disabilities (painting, crochet, sandals, bracelets, necklaces, clothing, floral art, purse etc... and food such as: Mamba, Jelly, ChanmChanm, etc...)

On this day, many distinguished visitors were noted, in addition to members of the Government, artists working in the area of promotion of Disability Rights, whose the Group Surprise and Samuel Cossy, we can note the visit of the famous Haitian designer Ralph Leroy well known in the world of international fashion and Christie Désir, second Dauphine of Miss Haiti 2014 also holder of the title of Miss Popular and Miss Top Model.

Children, youth and adults have taken advantage of this event, in an atmosphere of respect, friendliness and joy, praising the creative work of disabled people. Visitors could also learn a few words in sign language, through the formation section of BSEIPH that was present on the site.

Recall that the Fair was made possible thanks to the Disabled People's Associations and support of "Christian Blind Mission" (CBM), the Organization of American States (OAS), the US Agency for International Development (USAID) Handicap International, PLAN and World Vision.
