D.J. Nérée, the Commissioner of the Golf Federation of Haiti (FGH) is pleased to announce that the FGH, as of this month of December 2014 was approved as an affiliate member of the International Golf Federation (IGF), which manages for the International Olympic Committee all world golf championships whose next take place in Mexico in 2016.

With this affiliation, the Golf Federation of Haiti joined the 132 other IGF national members from 126 countriesin which evolve over 60 million golfers.

Commissioner Nérée reiterated on this occasion, the determination of the Golf Federation of Haiti, to work in close collaboration with the Haitian Olympic Committee, the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Civic Action and the Ministry Social Affairs and Labour, to bring Haiti into the worldwide family of golf, recalling that FGH wants to promote and popularize the practice of amateur golf in Haiti.

Note that Haiti has a golf course (the only one in the country), a 9-hole modest in size, located on the outskirts of Port-au-Prince.
