Haiti - FLASH : D-7, the G6 puts the National Assembly in failure

The opposition senators, members of G6 [Jean-Baptiste Bien-Aimé (Northeast), John Joël Joseph (West), Jean William Jeanty (Nippes) et Francky Exius (South), Jean-Charles Moïse (North) et Westner Polycarpe (North)], had announced on a local radio before the opening of the National Assembly in extraordinary session convened Monday at 11 a.m., https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-12853-haiti-politic-convocation-of-the-national-assembly-in-extraordinary-session.html at the request of President Martelly, that they did not intend to appear in order to refute the quorum in the Upper House and thus prevent, presentation and ratification of the General Policy of the Prime Minister, Evans Paul.

Nevertheless, many observers continued to believe that it was not too late and that the national interest would override these extreme positions. Unfortunately, the 6 senators of the radical opposition, put their threat into execution and for lack of quorum in quorum, the session of the National Assembly Monday, January 5, 2014, could not stand. After two roll calls only 70 of 94 deputies and 13 senators out of 20 were counted.

Faced with this failure, the Senator Desras, President of the National Assembly reconvened the deputies and senators on Wednesday, January 7 at 11 am, 5 days before the deadline set in the tripartite agreement signed on December 29 2014 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-12833-haiti-flash-the-mandates-of-deputies-and-senators-extended-under-conditions.html

In his convening notice, the President of the Senate asks all senators and all deputies to make the effort to be present at the precise time, for the opening of the National Assembly in Extraordinary Session.

Reacting to the intransigence of the G6, the deputies and senators pro-Martelly disappointed, have denounced the objective of the group of 6, which they say want to drive the country into chaos hoping made a clean sweep of the Haitian state.
