Haiti - Diplomacy : D-5, the international community is getting impatient and raises its voice

Sandra Honoré, the Special Representative of the Secretary General in Haiti and other members of the international community in Haiti represented in the "Core Group" (the Ambassadors of Brazil, Canada, France, Spain, the United States of America, the European Union and the Special Representative of the Organization of American States) note with deep concern that a solution to the political crisis has yet to be found less than a week before Parliament becomes dysfunctional.

In order to strengthen stability, preserve the democratic gains and ensure sustainable development in Haiti, members of the "Core Group" urge all the political actors to come together, to find a solution before the end of this week, to the political and electoral impasse in line with the recommendations of the Presidential Advisory Commission, https://www.haitilibre.com/docs/Rapport-Final-de-La-Commission-Consultative-Presidentielle.pdf in the best interest of the nation.

The "Core Group" reiterates its support for the inter-Haitian process essential for the formation, as soon as possible, of a consensus government and a Provisional Electoral Council to create the conditions necessary for the conduct of free, fair, inclusive and transparent elections in 2015.
