Haiti - Politic : Fanmi Lavalas want the resignation of Prime Minister Evans Paul

The political organization Fanmi Lavalas does not recognize the choice of Evans Paul, as Prime Minister. The former Lavalas Senator Louis Gérald Gilles which demands the resignation of Prime Minister Paul and the resumption of negotiations process with the Head of State for the choice of a new consensual Prime Minister, stressed that this position had nothing to do with any hard feelings. Recall that Evans Paul, was one of the leading figures of GNB movement that caused the fall of former President Jean Bertrand Artisde in February 2004.

Louis Gérald Gilles warns that if Evans Paul does not resign, Fanmi Lavalas will require in its mobilizations, the resignation of President Martelly, a claim that had refrained to formulate Fanmi Lavalas to date.

Fanmi Lavalas, the "Patriotic Movement for Democratic Opposition" (MOPOD) and the radical opposition of the "Table de concertation" intend to intensify their popular mobilizations, until satisfaction of their claims.

Former Senator Moïse Jean-Charles, leader of the party "Pitit Desalin" which continues to demand the resignation of the Head of State will now add that of the Prime Minister in response to the warning issued on Tuesday 13 January to the Prime Minister asking him to refuse to be installed at the Primature under penalty of becoming a target of the opposition as well as the Head of State. https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-12943-haiti-politic-the-opposition-is-preparing-to-overthrow-the-government.html

The next demonstrations in Port-au-Prince and the provinces are scheduled this Saturday 17, Tuesday 20, Thursday 22 and Friday, January 23 (the one originally scheduled Sunday 18 no longer seems on the opposition calendar).
