Sunday and Monday morning, nearly 500 Haitians, mostly men but also women and some minors, have been arrested during several control operations, while they had penetrated into Dominican territory through the mountains and various rural communities.

The arrests were made by the Dominican army and members of the Specialized Corps for Terrestrial Border Security (Cesfront), accompanied by immigration inspectors and the Public Prosecutor particularly in the localities of Palo Blanco, la Aviación, Santa Cruz, Santa María, Copey, Cañongo, Santiago de la Cruz, Los Miches and la Vigía among others.

Our compatriots have been repatriated to Haiti on Monday, through the border post of Dajabon.
