Saturday in the commune of Cité Soleil, the Prime Minister, Evans Paul, accompanied by among others Jimmy Albert, Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action launched the "Weekend of youth". Through this initiative, the Government intends to provide young people, especially those in popular areas of the country, the opportunity to develop their potential through healthy and educational activities.

More than 400 young people of Cité Soleil, took part during two days, to workshops, training and other sports activities at the ranch of Croix-des-Bouquets, as part of this first "Weekend of youth". Jimmy Albert took the opportunity to encourage young people of Cité Soleil, which are, according to him, the future of the country, to take their studies seriously.

The Head of Government wished to stress that it was an activity aimed at promoting youth and especially vulnerable young people exposed to the difficulties of all kinds in the slums of the country. "You can become anything you want in life, if you apply yourself to your training," explaining that this activity provides them "a framework of suitable expression and the opportunity to participate in building of that radiant Haiti and respected, we all dream of."

Insisting on the necessity for them to fight every day to earn their true place in Haitian society, Prime Minister Paul, renewed to these young people, the Government's determination to accompany them, so that they can develop their full potential and they are no longer prisoners of circumstances.

The Minister Albert announced that after the West, the extension of this activity in other departments of the country in the coming months, saying that the "Weekend of youth" will continue for a period of 10 weeks until the end of the month of May 2015 "We will soon invite young people of Bel-Air, Solino, Carrefour-feuilles and other disadvantaged areas to join in this activity, and with the guidance of trainers, develop their potential, use their time and energy to well build the foundations of their personal development."
