120 beneficiaries found a job

Already two promotions have been trained since the opening of the Formation center Haiti Apparel Center, HAC, last August. The 120 beneficiaries of these sessions have all found a job after learning of 4 weeks. The Centre, led by TC2 also provides training to managers, given by professionals of textile industry.

Cie Willbes looking for a land of 20 hectares

The company Willbes, is seeking a land of 20 hectares for the establishment of a textile factory. Three areas are investigated: those of Mirebalais, Ganthier and Leogane. Once chosen, the zone will be the subject of a study of establishment. Willbes, which already has 10 plants operating in the Industrial Parc Sonapi also has a plan of increase of 4 of his factories.

Haiti in Brazil

A delegation led by Josselyne C. Féthière Minister of Trade and Industry, and accompanied by the executive direction of the CTMO will visit Brazil in October at the invitation of the Brazilian Association of Textile Industry (ABIT) to make a presentation on Haiti at the time of the annual Fair of the textile industry which expects more than 15,000 visitors.

Better Work… in progress

At the beginning of September board of directors of Haiti Better Work was extented to 6 members. Thanks to that, the work of the institution improved and after diffusion of the evaluation report of the factories, given at the end of September. In a very near future, the first semi-annual report will be submitted to the USDOL (Dpt of Labor) and to the US TR (Trade Representative), as law HOPE/HELP requires it.
