Haiti - Diaspora : Investment and business relationships

The Groupe DP Consultations announces the 4th National Day of the Haitian Diaspora, which will take place around the theme related to economic development: Investment and business relations, Québec-Haiti-Canada. According to Jean David Prophète CEO of Groupe DP "[...] We would like, through the various panels and presentations, discuss various opportunities for creating sustainable wealth and jobs in Haiti and the involvement of the Haitian diaspora."

This National Day of the Diaspora, to be held Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the Room Marie Gerin-Lajoie from the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM), aims in particular to :

  • Make known the contribution of the Haitian diaspora in the host society and Haiti ;

  • Promote trade between Quebec, Canada's largest cities, and Haitian cities ;

  • Develop business links between the Montreal Haitian diaspora and Québec and Canadian companies ;

  • Recognize the support and business investment and the Haitian community organizations;

  • Explore different forms that can take the economic development and the relations between economic partners ;

  • Create a link between Haitians living abroad and in Haiti ;

  • Project in the host country, Haitian cultural values and a positive image of the Haitian people.

The event is organized in collaboration with: the Institute of International Studies of Montreal (IEIM), the Interdisciplinary Centre for Research in International Development and Society (CIRDIS), the Junior Chamber of Commerce Haitian (JCCH), the City of Montreal , Insurance Belair Direct, L'Oeuvre Léger, Fonkoze, the Maison d'Haiti, Industrial Alliance, Haitian Hometown Associations Resource Group, and several other organizations and institutions in the private and public sector.
