Friday, Pierre Duly Brutus, the Foreign Minister and his Dominican counterpart Andrés Navarro will lead the resumption of the Joint Bilateral Commission (CMB) to address issues of vital importance such as: the strengthening of diplomatic relations and the development of both neighboring countries (including security, migration, agriculture, investments).

According to Miguel Medina, the Dominican Chancellery spokesman, the meeting is scheduled from 11:00 am in the Auditorium of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX), with the presence of two large Haitian and Dominican delegations. This meeting will follow the recent agreements discussed at the last meeting in the town of Jimani, March 13 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-13378-haiti-diplomacy-positive-bilateral-meeting-in-jimani.html and will also focus on the monitoring of technical recommendations of the 6th meeting of CMB held in Port-au-Prince.

This meeting will bring together ministers of the Haitian government, Secretary of State, of Directors General of various public institutions as well as Magalie Magloire, the Chargé d'Affaires of Haiti, accredited in the Dominican Republic.

It is also planned a bilateral meeting between the Ministers of Agriculture of the two countries Fresner Dorcin and Angel Estevez, in addition to the signing of an agreement on border security between the Ministers of Defence, Lener Renauld and Williams Muñoz Delgado.

The Dominican Chancellery informed that the two Chancellors accompanied by some members of the delegation will participate in an important working meeting on various initiatives, including in the fields of freight transport and passengers and justice.

Representatives of international organizations such as the European Union, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Agency for International Development (AID) will participate as observers in the work of the Joint Bilateral Commission.
