Haiti - Politic : ONA projects for the month of May 2015

Monday, at its 6th weekly press conference, Emmanuel Ménard, Director General of the National Old Age Insurance Office (ONA), announced for the month of May, a series of initiatives for the benefit of policyholders and future policyholders of the institution.

He said that the ONA is working with the Directorate General of Taxes (DGI) to ensure that the pension fund for private sector employees are properly paid before announcing: the resumption, from the month of May, of the granting of mortgages suspended for about 8 months; the launch of the voluntary contribution for the self-employed; the opening of a retirement home in four major areas of the country, to the benefit of the elderly and the expansion of ONAPam, to the benefit of low-income earners.

For its 50 years of existence, ONA also intends to launch a consumer credit for contributors. These loans will be repayable over a period of up to 50 months. Finally, two phone lines will be made available to answer questions from the public.

Furthermore, in response to a request from President Michel Martelly, ONA has decided to take the train of modernity, by opening next month, its new technology and engineering center in Delmas 31, which will allow, among others to the institution, to follow on its servers in real time, all the transactions in the 17 ONA offices located throughout the country.
