The President Martelly expresses on the rejection of the candidacy of his wife

20 candidates rejected, OPL sees a political decision

Friday, following the publication of the final list of candidates for the Senate and the deputation by the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP), which dismissed 522 candidates in total [download the list : https://www.haitilibre.com/docs/Liste_definitive_des_candidats_14_mai_2015.pdf ], Harry Marsant, the Secretary to the mobilization of the Organization of People in Struggle (OPL) denounced the rejection of 20 candidates of OPL for the legislative (5 in the Senate and 15 for deputies). He believes that this is a political decision aimed at weakening the OPL and said that the Legal Council of the Party has already initiated steps with the CEP, for an explanation of the reasons evoked by the council for these rejections.

JISTIS does not accept the resignation of Me Newton St Juste

The PHTK contests of 31 os its candidates

The Platform PHTK (party in power), strongly challenges the rejection of some of its candidates. On 17 candidates enrolled in the Senate and 108 candidates for the deputation, the CEP rejected 8 of its candidates in the Senate and 23 for deputies. The Platform sent a letter to the CEP to try to get clarification on the real reasons for the rejection of each of its candidates, which according to the PHTK, enjoying all their full civil and political rights. In the meantime, the Platform calls on excluded candidates and supporters to remain calm.
