On Friday, President Michel Martelly, participated in the inauguration of the 500-seat auditorium of the National Old Age Insurance Office (ONA) and the launch of activities marking the 50th anniversary of this institution.

The ceremony was attended by the great servants of the State, executives and employees of the ONA, Dr. Joseph Smith, the mayor of North Miami, as well as beneficiaries of the institution.

Emmanuel Ménard, Director General of the ONA proceeded with the opening of service credit 50, called AutONA and of medical assistance service SantONA as well as the reopening of the service of mortgage loans.

The Head of State praised the efforts of the new administration to modernize ONA and congratulated the leaders of the institution for their work in order to provide better services to insured and pensioners "Yon gwo kout chapo pou tout anplwaye ONA, kap travay nan lòd ak disiplin pou bay pi bon sèvis. Map ankouraje tout pwofesyonèl kap travay ak tèt yo pou yo entegre nan sistèm asirans ONA. Mwen salye anpil jefò ki fèt pou modènize ONA, fèl rive sèvi plis moun tout kote nan peyi a, e menm lòt bò dlo. M'ap mande patwon yo ki poko antre nan ONA pou yo kouri entegre asirans sa a k ap bon pou anplwaye yo."

To solemnly mark the 50th anniversary of the institution, the Directorate General of ONA, honored the oldest pensioner, the more senior employee, and the oldest company affiliated to ONA. The Head of State also held an exchange of gifts in honor of the oldest of the National Old Age Insurance Office.

The Mayor of North Miami, presented a plaque of honor and merit to the President Martelly for his dedication in the struggle for the integral development of the Haitian citizen.
