Haiti - NOTICE : Annual Regional Conference «Business Future of the Americas»

"Business Future of the Americas", the annual Regional Conference of the Association of American Chambers of Commerce in Latin America and the Caribbean (AACCLA), will be held for the first time in Haiti from 15 to 17 June 2015, at the Hotel Marriott of Port-au-Prince on the theme "the diaspora investments in Latin America and the Caribbean."

Régine René Labrousse, Vice-President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Haiti (AmCham-Haiti) explained that "The focus will be on the Diaspora and its leading role in the investments [...] this conference will be a meeting point for our Haitian business people of the diaspora, well placed to do business and work in the region."

On June 15, the conference, the President Michel Martelly, will open the Conference with the participation of former Bolivian President Jorge Fernando Quiroga. Several foreign speakers will participate in panels, as well as local figures to discuss the importance of different aspects of the theme of the conference: what motivates diaspora investments or how to pass from remittances to the productive investment.

The two co-chairman of AmCham Haiti, Ambassador Pamela White and the Ambassador of Haiti to the United States, Paul Altidor will intervene throughout the event. The financing of development of emerging markets will be the topic discussed by Wilson Laleau the Minister of Economy, during lunch. High level speakers are on the program, including representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce in Washington, DC, of the George Washington University, and Heineken Americas.

On June 16, will begin behind closed doors and will convene the general assembly of the Association of American Chambers of Commerce in Latin America and the Caribbean (AACCLA). In the afternoon the first business meetings will allow entrepreneurs to meet.

The AmCham Haiti wished to give to this annual conference a wider scope, adding a day to discuss the opportunities of "Doing Business in Haiti." On June 17, the forum "Doing Business in Haiti" organized in partnership with the Investment Facilitation Center (CFI) will provide an opportunity to several personalities to be in a series of panels that will discuss business opportunities in the country: assembly, agribusiness, tourism... The Minister of Tourism and Creative Industries Stéphanie Villedrouin will present the Tourism Master Plan for Haiti including private sector investment. The day will end with a new round of business meetings.

"This event should promote exceptional opportunities to integrate and interact with a network of over 300 business leaders from the United States, Caribbean, Brazil, and many other countries in the region. Throughout the conference, Business-to-Business Meetings (B2Bs) will be planned [...] We invite all business men and women of Haiti, to register for exchanges with their alter ego of the entire region [...] An exhibition of local products will also be presented during the whole of the event," said Vice President of AmCham-Haiti.
