Wednesday as part of the support program Business Accelerator (launched in February 2015), designed for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), was signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MCI) and the National Association of Haitian Caisses Populaires (ANACAPH). This agreement reflects the need of the Ministry to use the services of a financial institution capable of ensuring the program's financing component.

Recall that the business accelerator is a set of initiatives to encourage the creation and development of MSMEs. Among the support include: the study on high growth potential sectors; days and business meetings for networking of a wide group of entrepreneurs, investors, suppliers and buyers; seminar-workshops for reflection and sharing of information on business opportunities; training programs for small producers and entrepreneurs and credit staff of local financial institutions; management in support and direct technical assistance to small entrepreneurs and producers: Speaker in specific sectors whose activities are high risk and who have no access to the local capital market and ease of access to finance for small producers and entrepreneurs.

Companies eligible for the accelerator :

Essential aspects :

• Economically and financially viable companies;

• Formal Business or committing to formalize;

• Businesses involved mainly in the priority sectors identified by the MCI or with an innovative idea or a very high success potential.

Other aspects considered :

• Businesses undergoing creation or development;

• Businesses with potential for development, but experiencing difficulties in finding funding;

• Companies with a need for technical and financial assistance.

The priority proposals :

• Strategic Enterprises for the development of sectors and micro industrial parks

• Initiatives emanating from organized women's and youth devoted to the emergence of business creation projects

• Businesses with significant potential for growth and job creation

• Activities based on production, processing and / or promotion of local products and services

• Company offering new products / services or of an innovative nature

• Company satisfying not yet met by the market

Receipt of proposals :

The accelerator is open to all entrepreneurs and all initiatives that meet the criteria mentioned.

The organizations and institutions working in the private sector development or coordinating support programs for small and medium-sized enterprises, can also direct them to the accelerator.

The proposals (ideas or business plans) must be deposited at SAE or the Development Centre of Enterprise and Entrepreneurship (CEED).
