Haiti - Diplomacy : Ambassador Javier Niño Pérez, decorated with the National Order

Thursday at the National Palace, the President Michel Martelly, accompanied by Yves Germain Joseph, Minister of Planning and External Cooperation, has decorated with the National Order at the Rank of Grand Cross Silver Plaque, Javier Niño Pérez, Ambassador and Head of the Delegation of the European Union in end of mission in Haiti.

During the ceremony, which was attended by Pierre Richard Casimir, the Minister of Justice, Nesmy Manigat, Minister of National Education, the National Authorising Officer, Charles Jean Jacques, the Special Representative general of the UN, Sandra Honoré, the Apostolic Nuncio, ArchbishopEugène Martin Nugent and several members of the Diplomatic Corps, the Head of State praised the Ambassador Javier Niño Pérez, who was, according to him, above all, a great friend of Haiti.

The President welcomed the joint efforts made to create a partnership framework between Haiti and the European Union focused on cooperation in various areas of development, including infrastructure, governance, human rights, food security and education.

Moved, Javier Niño Pérez who completes his three-year mission in Haitian territory confided that his years in Haiti have left him "a lot of memories of a cordial and productive collaboration with the current administration."
