At a benefit evening organized by the Economic Policy Section of the Embassy of Canada in Haiti, in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Haitian-Canadian (CCIHC) in support to the Junior Chamber International Haiti (JCI-Haiti) and their construction project of the first "Multipurpose Center of the Haitian youth", more than 7,000 US dollars were raised including a contribution of five thousand US dollars on behalf of the Canadian Embassy.

All funds raised during this event were donated to the JCI-Haiti, in support of their project to build a Multipurpose Center in Delmas, close to the Canadian Embassy. The JCI-Haiti Multipurpose Center will contribute to the training of 1,080 young people, the establishment of 10 sustainable business projects and provide various services to over 10,000 youth annually.

"In line with our commitment to the development of Haitian youth, Canada supports and encourages young people to pursue their objectives of strengthening local initiatives [...] We are pleased to contribute modestly to this funds raising campaign and hope that other partners will contribute to the achievement of this project," declared Tristan Landry, Political Advisor of the Embassy of Canada.

"The CCIHC in its effort to strengthen the associative and social sectors in Haiti, will always be with you for years to come and we will accompany you throughout this construction project of this Multipurpose Center whose the Haitian youth has a great need," affirmed Engineer Michel Lamarre, President of the CCIHC.
