Tuesday, at the hotel Kinam 1, the Ministry of Culture organized a symposium on the revitalization of the cultural sector at local level. At the end of this symposium that brought together: cultural operators, municipal officials, Directors General of decentralized agencies of the Ministry and cultural attaches of some foreign embassies in Haiti, Ms. Dithny Joan Raton, the Minister of Culture, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Ariel Henry, the Minister of Interior and Territorial Communities, for the constitution of a Cultural Development Agent Network in the Municipalities.

"We feel the urgent need to better ensure the promotion and development of national culture and enhancing our cultural heritage, whose main elements are found scattered throughout the national territory," indicated Ms. Raton who has reviewed a number of projects on which her administration worked for several years, including the creation of the Network of municipal cultural workers; the implementation of a unit for the promotion of cultural events; the construction of cultural infrastructure and the establishment of a support fund for the development of cultural investment.

The Directors General of some decentralized agencies, through actions at regional level, presented in turn the main interventions of the Ministry of Culture in the departments.

Subsequently, cultural attachés of foreign diplomatic representations invited intervened by highlighting the scope of intervention of their respective embassies in the sector. The International Organisation of La Francophonie, presented its action plan in supporting government initiatives culturally.

These project presentations were followed by a discussion-workshop, which took place around the importance of the implementation of the Cultural Development Agent Network in municipalities having a remarkable cultural potential.
