The Embassy of Haiti in Ecuador informs us that following a request from President Michel Martelly to his Ecuadorian counterpart Rafael Correa, during his visit to Ecuador on July 7, the Consultative Council on Migration Policy of the Government of Ecuador adopted August 4, 2015, a provision to regularize all Haitian nationals in an irregular migratory situation, present on Ecuadorian territory before May 4, 2015.

Under this provision, any eligible Haitian national may apply between August 11 and November 11, 2015, for a nonimmigrant visa type 12-XI, valid for a period of six (06) months

Once in possession of this visa, the beneficiary has the option to apply for a migrant visa, according to his situation, either as a worker, student, trader, etc...

Some estimates evaluate to more than 20,000 the number of Haitian in an irregular migratory situation, likely to benefit from this migratory measure.

Already last week the candidates flock in large numbers to the premises of the consular section of the Embassy of Haiti in Ecuador to receive some support in the completion of formalities relating to the application to this regulation plan.
