Haiti - FLASH : Two police officers shot down

While heavily armed rival gangs confront every day in Cité Soleil and the population lives in fear https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-15104-haiti-security-clashes-in-cite-soleil-the-population-lives-in-fear.html , Monday afternoon, two officers of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) Edouard Occil and Porcenat Barnave of the 20th and 21st promotion of the PNH, were shot down with several bullets, at the carrefour Drouillard, (Commune of Cité soleil)

According to the Principal Inspector, Garry Desrosiers, Deputy Spokesman of the National Police of Haiti, the two officers were patrolling on a motorcycle when several individuals in a van, have voluntarily overthrown them before firering on the police officers on the ground, mortally wounding them before fleeing. One officer despite his injuries would have had time toshoot at the vehicle and wounding one of the attackers.

According to police sources 5 suspicious individuals whose one injured, who were in the van, which was reported at the time of the attack, would have been arrested near Fleuriot crossroads. Four would have been taken to the Central Directorate of Judicial Police (DCPJ) for interrogation, the fifth injured, was placed under supervision in a hospital of the capital.
