Friday, Pierre-Richard Casimir, the Minister of Justice, sponsor of the graduating class "Hugues Saint-Pierre" (2011-2015), of the Faculty of Law and Economics of Gonaïves, presided at the graduation ceremony in the city of independence, attended by the dean of the Tribunal of First Instance of Gonaïves, the Government Commissioner of the city and several notables.

In his speech for the occasion, the Minister Casimir invited new graduates to pursue vigorously their quest for knowledge and work without delay on their output memory.

It is proposed to them to put their research work on topics related to the reform of the Haitian criminal law, including the finalization of the draft of the new Haitian penal code. According to the Minister "graduated would render service to the whole society by bringing the output memory on the innovations proposed in this draft code prepared by the Presidential Commission on Reform of Justice." Innovations that include among others: the introduction in Haiti of alternative penalties to prison, the fight against cybercrime, the issue of decriminalization of abortion...

The recipients expressed their satisfaction on the advice and encouragement of the Minister and promised to follow in his footsteps during their career in the field of law and justice.
