Haiti - Music : Haitian band Klass winner of «Best Haitian Entertainer of the Year» Award

THELAR Management Group and Martin's International Culture congratulate all Haitian nominees, and are pleased to announce that the Haitian Compas band, Klass, won the "Best Haitian Entertainer of the Year" award; And Nu Look, another Haitian Compas band also based in Florida, won the "Florida Haitian Entertainer of the Year" award at the 34th Annual International Reggae & World Music Awards (IRAWMA) held on Sunday, October 4th, 2015 at Bailey Hall of Broward College Central Campus in Davie, Florida. Well-known entertainers, emerging artists, personalities of the music industry and dignitaries from the Caribbean, Africa, Europe, Canada and the United States attended the prestigious event.

Let's recall that every year, Martin's International Culture calls upon entertainment experts in the reggae and world music industry (i.e. African, Caribbean and other world music) to be part of the process in helping to select the nominees in each category.

For the Haitian categories overseen by THELAR Management Group, experts in the Haitian music industry from Haiti, France, New York, Boston, Florida and Canada also participated in the nomination process. Nominations are based on materials/songs released between June 2014 and May 31st, 2015. Experts take into consideration the social relevance of materials, originality, sales, local/national/international performances, quality of performances, and stage appearances, etc... Once the nominees list is revealed, the public is urged to vote for its favorite entertainers and personalities nominated for special awards such as the Marcus Garvey Humanitarian Award for which the Haitian activist Marleine Bastien was nominated this year.
