Haiti - Economy : Inflation surpassed the 11%

In September 2015, the Index of Consumer Prices (100 in August 2004) amounts to 245.7 against 242.8 in August and shows a monthly increase of + 1.2%, yoy inflation continues to increase to 11.3% in September against 10.4% the previous month.

Functions that have contributed most to this monthly increase of 1.2% include: "Food, Beverage & Tobacco" (+ 0.9%), "Clothing and fabrics, footwear" (+ 0.9%), "Planning, Equipment and Maintenance housing "(+ 1.0%)," Rent housing, Energy and Water "(+ 0.9%) and" Other Goods and Services "(+ 1.1%).

The progress of the "Food, Beverage & Tobacco" function hich represents over 50% of the household budget comes particularly of prices of : millet (+ 1.0%), grain corn (+ 0.8%), ground corn (+ 0.9%) of wheat flour (2.9%), spaghetti (1.0%) of cornflakes (+ 5.0%), bread (+ 1.5%), beef meat (+ 1.2%) and pigs (0.8%) , chicken (+ 1.6%), table margarine (+ 3.1%), cooking margarine (+ 1.1%), avocado (+ 2.5%), of bananas (+ 3.7%), of the pumpkin (+ 1.0%), of kazoo (+ 3.9%), green peas (+ 1.8%), dry peas (+ 2.3% ), eggplant (+ 2.0%), cabbage (3.7%), onion (3.2%), carrots (3.2%), tomato (+ 2.2%), yams (+ 2.8%), of malanga (+ 2.5%), of potatoes (+ 2.8%) and potatoes (4, 0%), the true tree (+ 1.7%), orange (2.8%) and chadèque (+ 2.4%).

The increase in the "Clothing, Textiles and Footwear" function is due to the increase in products such as tissues (+ 0.6%), the costume, universal jacket (+ 0.8%), the liner (+ 0.7%) of the shirt (+ 1.3%), clothing apparel (+ 1.1%), and tennis shoes (+ 1.1%) and sandals (+ 2.0%).

The upward trend of the "Planning, Equipment and Housing Maintenance" comes mainly of prices of : living room furniture (+ 1.5%), the dining room (+ 2.0%), the bed (+ 1.3%), the mattress (+ 2.1%), curtains (+ 2.3% ), curtains (+ 2.3%), refrigerator (+ 1.1%), insecticides (+ 1.0%), disinfectant (+ 3.6%) and dry cleaning services (+ 1.7%).

The rise of the "hobbies, entertainment, education and culture" function comes mostly from portable sound devices (+ 1.3%), educational expenses (+ 11.7%), textbooks (+ 3.5%) and the school bag (+ 4.9%).

As for the increase in the "Other Goods and Services" it result mainly of rising prices of : the toilet powder (+ 2.7%), beauty treatments (+ 0.7%) and cleaning footwear (+ 10.5%).
