This Friday morning, as part of its strategy to support private sector development, and the implementation of the program of Micro Park, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry attended by the Minister Jude Hervey Day will sign an agreement with the "Société Jus de Marmelade S.A."

The signing of this protocol paves the way for a partnership between the MCI and all units of the Foundation for Sustainable Development and Integrated of Marmelade (FONDDIM) and marks a first step towards the transformation of the agricultural Centre of Beaucher (Marmelade, Artibonite, North Massif) into a true Micro agro-industrial park.

Indeed, this agreement defines the conditions under which the Minsitry is committed to finance a part of the equipment necessary for the revival of the factory "Jus de Marmelade S.A" and to fund technical assistance for the establishment and implementation of the plan "Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point" (HACCP) an instrument that will allow them to achieve a higher level of food safety.

The contribution of the Ministry will mobilizes some of the funds of Productive Development Support Program financed by the Interamerican Development Bank (non-refundable Financing Agreement 2416 / GR-HA and TSO / HR-12410-HA). The first phase of this project will total an amount of over 33.3 million Gourdes (33,309,454.25 Gdes) more than 22.5 million (22,509,454.25) will be spent on procurement of equipment and 10.8 million in technical assistance.

Recall that the Beaucher Agricultural Centre, already includes several units of production and processing and has a very high potential for other activities, including in the sectors of fruit, bamboo, coffee and livestock. This Micro Park will provide these businesses with the infrastructure, equipment and adequate services to ensure their development and sustainability. This device will participate in the pooling and thus reducing operating costs and to the economic influence on the area thanks to the contribution of small producers, who are the main suppliers of raw materials.
