Haiti - Elections : Laurent Lamothe applauds the victory of the Haitian people

In a statement, the former Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe applauded the courage and determination of the Haitian people during the election day of 25 October.

"I salute the courage and determination of the Haitian people for how it came out to vote on October 25. The vote of the people is a great lesson in democracy that it gives the politicians. By depositing their ballots to choose their candidate and rejecting violence, the people won a great victory over the forces of evil.

You remember that I really was not happy with the way they respected the vote of the people on August 9. Today I ask that during the vote count and tabulation that will be done to give the results, election officials comply with the law and respects the integrity of the entire vote of the people.

As usual, as a person who loves his country and loves his people, I will continue to give my patriotic and civic contribution to the advancement of democracy, economy and social life of my beloved country Haiti !

Vive the people !"
