Haiti - Politic : National Pact for Quality Education, adhere to it online

Recently, Nesmy Manigat, the Minister of National Education and Vocational Training, at a press conference around the first week of signature of National Pact for Quality Education, reminded to all stakeholders and citizens they can now adhere online to the 7 main commitments of the Pact at this address : menfp.gouv.ht/pacte_national_%C3%A9ducation_qualite1.html "In order to better facilitate the involvement of all those who wish to bring their support for the initiative [...] This is an essential step in mobilizing citizens around the Pact" stressed the Minister, who took the opportunity to thank some 2,000 signatories who have already adhere to this approach after only four days.

Stressing that no sector has the authorship of the document, the Minister insisted on speaking of a collective work that is the result of long discussions and struggles for many years by various national actors for the renovation of the education sector.

Welcoming the commitment of certain institutions and candidates for their adherence to the Pact including the media, human rights organizations, teachers unions, socio-professional and employers' associations, the Minister Manigat appealed to other sectors and to candidates awaiting, that should come to reinforce this citizen fighting, to change the situation in the education sector, noting that "education is everyone's business."
