Yesterday Wednesday to mark the 212th anniversary of the Battle of Vertières, the President Michel Martelly, Prime Minister Evans Paul, Senator Andris Riché made a floral offering at Haitian National Pantheon, in the presence of Stéphanie B. Villedrouin, Minister of Tourism and acrting Minister of Culture and other government officials in memory of the architects of the memorable Battle of Vertières, delivered November 18, 1803 against the French expeditionary army. The floral offering was followed by a tour of the exhibition halls of the Museum of Haitian National Pantheon (MUPANAH).

Through parade of different units of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) on the Champ de Mars, the Government celebrated this November 18, 2015, the 212th anniversary of the victory of our Independence heroes on the powerful French army at Vertières.

The President of the Republic remains convinced, 212 years after, that the Battle of Vertières, through its unity and selflessness values, should continue to serve as a guide to our political actions to continue the common work of building our beloved Haiti.

212 years after this heroic act by the artisans of the freedom of all blacks, the call is launched to every Haitian to be a "Dessalines", an artisan of freedom and unity.

If our fathers had the determination to live forever free, with the courage to fight until total freedom, today, we must defeat the apostles of chaos and destabilization to give a chance to our beloved Haiti.

Vertières was not only a victory over the settlers but also the victory of the freedom of human rights over oppression.

While in Cap-Haitien on the initiative of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Civic Action, hundreds of young people marched from the city, to the monument of Vertières where the Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action, Jimmy Albert laid a wreath of flowers in the presence of Director General of MJSAC Jean Max St Albin and representatives of the ministry in the Northern Department.
