Collecting micro-surcharges and contributions from enormous volumes of transactions involves complex data collection and processing systems. It also involves fraud management systems to prevent fraudsters from avoiding the new micro-surcharges or taking advantage of them through grey markets to line their own pockets. LSLWI’s technology partners have implemented cost-effective data and fraud management systems in many developing countries.

The last step is using the revenues for sustainable socio-economic development (revenue utilisation). Through LSL World Initiative’s innovative financing for development approach, governments are assisted to achieve their development goals in line with their own specific national priorities and needs.
