Haiti - 212th of the independence : Greetings from the Consul General of Chicago

Lesly Condé, the Consul General of Haiti in Chicago, on behalf of the consulate and on his behalf, presents to the entire Haitian Community, its wishes of Happy New Year 2016.

The Consul Condé, take this opportunity to remind compatriots of Chicago and throughout the Midwest as well as friends of Haiti than the 1st and 2 January 2016 respectively bring the 212th anniversary of our National Independence Day and Forefathers Day.

On this occasion the Haitian Catholic Mission of the Archdiocese of Chicago invites the brothers and sisters of the community at a solemn mass to be celebrated on Friday, January 1 at 5:30 p.m. to the Church of Our Lady of Peace located at 7801 South Jeffery, Chicago. After the religious ceremony a reception will be offered in the basement of the church. This invitation is extended to people of all religious denominations.

Furthermore, on Saturday, January 9 the Haitian Congress to Fortify Haiti and other local organizations invite all compatriots to a large community gathering to be held from :00 pm at the Levy Center located at 300 Dodge Ave., Evanston. On the program: various speakers, songs, poems, musical entertainment etc...

The traditional pumpkin soup will be served and a memory of our dear Haiti will be distributed to all those present. We take this opportunity to honor the memory of victims of the 2010 earthquake.

The Consul Lesly Condé, encourages members of our large family to come many demonstrate their national pride and solidarity by welcoming the New Year in harmony and respect.
